God's Plan
Our Response . . . [Cont.]
Faith is also an action word.
Contrary to what we've been taught . . . Faith is not a religion, nor a religious practice.
Faith is trusting and believing in more than your own intelligence, and the sum of your personal experiences.
Faith is trusting and believing that Jesus Christ died specifically for your sins, and that, by doing so, He has restored your eternal relationship with God and marked off a place that is tailor made just for you in Heaven.
" '. . . what must I do to be saved?' So they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. . .' " Acts 16:30b, 31 NKJV
The Bible also says, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 NIV
"But what does it say? 'The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.' As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.' "
